Ohsweken Speedway officials and teams tried their best to race on Awesome Racewear night at the Speedway, but Mother Nature wouldn’t co-operate. 6 heat races were in the books when the skies opened, forcing cancellation of the remainder of the evening. The event will not be rescheduled.
Rain checks from June 13 will be honoured at the next regular Friday Night Thunder event, scheduled for next Friday, June 20 when Gales Auto Aftermarket presents the Empire Super Sprints tour, along with a regular card of ESSO Thunder Stocks, ESSO Mini-Stocks, and Fun Stocks. Fans wishing to redeem their rain checks can bring their June 13 ticket stubs with them to the June 20 event to gain admittance at no charge.
The next scheduled event at Ohsweken is Thursday, June 19 when the World of Outlaws Late Model series makes its first ever trip to Ontario to contest the “Six Nations 50”. The Ohsweken Speedway Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars will also run a full program Thursday night. Plenty of reserved seat tickets for the event remain. Fans attending the Six Nations 50 can redeem their Thursday night, June 19 ticket stubs on Friday, June 20 to gain admittance to the Empire Super Sprints event for just $5.
