CONSTRUCTION DELAYS FORCE CANCELLATION OF JUNE 29 PROGRAM |

RESUMES FRIDAY JULY 6TH |
A huge upgrade project taking place at Ohsweken has forced cancellation of the regular racing program for June 29.
When the checkered flag fell last Friday night, work crews moved in and began replacing the catch fence surrounding the speedway. Erection of the new seats has also begun along with numerous other less noticeable upgrades. “Construction has taken longer than anticipated and the catch fence will not be complete by this Friday” stated Glenn Styres, one of the principle owners of the facility. “Rather than take a chance of not being complete and safe, I have cancelled for this week early to give everyone a chance to make other plans on the holiday weekend”.
All work is expected to be finished when Ohsweken opens it’s gates on Friday, July 6th when the ASCS Patriots join the regular program of racing.
This is all in preparation for the largest event ever to be staged at Ohsweken when the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars invades the “Big-O” Wednesday, July 25th to contest the “Six Nations Showdown”. Plenty of reserved seats still remain by calling (519) 542-2116. |
